Pu Erh tea comes from Yun Nan Province. The tea leaves are dried, steamed and pressed into various shapes. Then they are stored to go through a natural gentle aging process that is called post fermentation. Because of its therapeutic benefits, Pu Erh is becoming extremely popular. Pu Erh facilitates digestion and is used to reduce body fat. It is considered in Asia to be very beneficial to the cardiovascular system.*

Ingredients: Pu-Erh Tuo Cha

Usage: Use 1 cake of tea per 8 oz. of water. Heat water to near boiling temperature and steep for 3 minutes. For stronger flavor, use more tea leaves.

I enjoy my teas; yet, I'm not as fond of TCM's herbal flavor opportunities as others. This tea is herb-y and woody but without being too pungent or bitter (or just plain yucky). It's different but comforting, some how. In fact, it's quite good with only a tiny bit of sweetener in the morning. (The hot tea smells like a sweet, delicious, Chinese apothecary.) Gives a good energy boost that helps with mid-morning motivation and mood without jitters or anxiety. Don't drink in the evening if you have trouble falling or staying asleep.
